Who we are

This website is run by the Cambridge University Digital Gaming Society (CUDGS), a student society, which is responsible for any personal data described here. Contact us at yw713@cam.ac.uk.

What this site collects

Very little. There are no accounts, forms, advertising or cross-site tracking, and the site itself sets no cookies.

• Server logs: like almost every website, our server records each request's IP address, time and page, to keep the site running and secure. Logs are kept for 14 days, then deleted.
• Visitor statistics: we count visits with Umami, which runs on our own server and uses no cookies. It records the page, the site you came from, your browser, device type and rough location (country or city), but not your IP address, and can't identify you. We use it only to see which pages are useful. We respect your browser's Do Not Track setting, and you can opt out below.
• Events list: loaded from our public Google Calendar, with event pictures from Google Drive. Your browser connects to Google directly, so Google receives your IP address, under Google's privacy policy.
• Instagram posts: if we show posts from our Instagram, they only load after you click to show them. Instagram (Meta) then receives your IP address and may set cookies, under Meta's privacy policy.
• Links: Instagram, Discord and supporters' websites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. Email us to do this. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
